• Most Creative Recruitment Strategies Award- Fall 2008 Membership Challange
• Chapter Travel Grants for attending TMS 2008, MS&T 2008 and TMS 2009.
  
• Most Active chapter announced by SOC at SOC Banquet on 3rd May-2008
• Chapter of Excellence being one among six universities selected worldwide. Received $500.00 award from Material Advantage Foundation, 2006-2007
  
• Winner of “World Materials Day Contest” from ASM Foundation for the year 2006-07 for its K-12 outreach activities.
• Awarded “Chapter of Excellence” from Material Advantage for year 2006-07 for its activities.
• Mr. Anup Kumar Keshri, Chair of the chapter, was awarded the “Arthur E. Focke LeaderShape Award” from ASM Materials Education Foundation for the year 2007-08
• 6 MA members attended the 2008 TMS annual meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. They all received the student monitorship position. MA at FIU also won the Chapter Travel grant to take care of the expenses.
• MA chapter has also received the travel grant for attending MS&T – 2007 to be held in Detroit, Sept. 15-19 2007
• "CHAPTER OF EXCELLENCE" for Year 2004-05 by Material Advantage Students Program  during Sept. 2005 
• OUTSTANDING CHAPTER EXCELLENCE AWARD for Year 2004-05 by Engineering Students Council, FIU

*Mr. Tapas Laha received Travel Scholarship from TMS to attend 2006 TMS Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Mar. 12-16, 2006

*Mr. Harindra Vedala, Mr. Tapas Laha, Mr. Srinivasa Rao Bakshi and Mr. Kantesh Balani received Student Monitorship from TMS to attend 2006 TMS Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Mar. 12-16, 2006

* Mr. Tapas Laha, and Mr. Kantesh Balani received Student Monitorship from TMS to attend MS&T 2005 Conference in Pittsburgh, Sept. 25-28, 2006

*Mr. Harindra Vedala received Travel Scholarship from TMS to attend MS&T 2004 Conference in New Orleans 26-29th Sept. 2004. 

*Received Special Grant from Student Government Association for outreach and technical activities.

*Presented Paper and Poster in TMS 133rd Annual Meeting & Exhibition at Charlotte, NC during March. 14-18th 2004

*Participated in Florida AVS Student Poster Competition, Orlando.

*The Chapter provides Undergraduate Tutoring in Basic Materials Engineering, Statics and Mechanics of Materials. Weekly service helps students gain a better understanding and direct grasping of courses directly through students.

*The Chapter is presenting Seminars in several high schools like Mast Academy, Miami and Cypress Bay Public School, Fort Lauderdale and to the undergrad students in Center for Engineering and Applied Science, FIU in order to attract the students to Nanotechnology, Materials Science and Engineering and their Applications.

*One of Judges in Future City Competition, at FIU on Jan. 19th 2004.

*Participated in Club Fair for involving more undergraduates in the ASM/TMS student chapter.

*Attending Creativity Seminars for incorporating them in functioning Chapter activities.

*Participating Leadership Workshops for incorporating them in functioning Chapter activities.
